This week’s newsletter in the spotlight comes from luxury long haul tour operator Destinology  and features their pick of the hotel openings for 2011 and early 2012, with plenty more fantastic new hotels due to open soon. Middle East

Abu Dhabi’s popularity looks set to continue rising with a whole host of new openings in late 2011 and early 2012. Park Hyatt on Sadiaat Island is set on a nine-kilometre stretch of environmentally protected, white sand beach and looks set to offer an exclusive sanctuary just 10 minutes from Abu Dhabi city centre. Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort opens early November and will focus on spa treatments as well as golf.

Rumour has it the long awaited Royal Amwaj on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah may be close to opening in 2012, a gem that we have all been waiting for.

Maldives

We’ve already seen several high profile openings in the Maldives this year, giving a huge choice of options for luxury holidays to these beautiful islands. Jumeirah Dhevanafushi and Park Hyatt Hadahaa are already open and proving popular, with more openings to look forward to over the next few months. With an underwater club and 24-hour on-call spa treatments, Niyama promises to be a cutting edge paradise, whilst the new Dusit Thani resort will bring gracious Thai hospitality to the Maldives. Jumeirah’s second Maldives resort Jumeirah Vittaveli is due to open soon and will be the perfect destination for luxury family holidays.

Europe

The prestigious Jumeirah Hotel Group continues its expansion with a new hotel in the pretty resort of Port Soller, Majorca. This luxurious resort will offer gourmet cuisine, Talise Spa and direct access to beautiful coastal walkways.

News on the travel grapevine is that Destinology will be increasing their range of luxury holidays to Europe over the next few months, so look out for new destinations and more even more hotels – some new, some already firm favourites.
